About Us
We are a family of organic farmers based in Trikorfo, Messinia, right next to the archaeological site of Ancient Messene. On our farms we cultivate olive trees for bio extra virgin olive oil and Kalamata table olives, as well as figs and vineyards.
We value community, sharing and respect for nature. As vegetarians ourselves, we especially appreciate volunteers who also follow a vegetarian lifestyle.
Type of Help
Olive harvesting (October - January, depending on the weather) - our main seasonal activity. While partly mechanized, it still requires many helping hands.
Seasonal farm work - caring for olive trees, vineyards and fig trees, with fig harvesting taking place in the summer.
Processing and packaging - assisting in our small-scale workshop where we process and package our own products.
Volunteer Qualities
We welcome people who:
• Have skills or experience in farming or practical tasks
• Enjoy teamwork and community living
• Love nature and working outdoors
• Are open to learning and sharing experiences
Accommodation
We provide very good living conditions in an indepedent, fully equipped house. Volunteers are encouraged to take part in preparing their own meals, especially dinner. We would highly appreciate this arrangement.
Work Schedule
Farm work takes place throughout the year, but the busiest period is autumn and winter. During the olive harvest, the working day is regularly longer. In such cases, we agree on a fair and mutually beneficial arrangement for the extra hours.
We also kindly ask that during the olive harvest season, volunteers stay for a minimum of two to four weeks rather than just a few days. This helps reduce frequent turnover and allows us to avoid repeated training for new arrivals, ensuring a smoother and more efficient experience for both sides.
