We are a couple , Baba and Iason , and together we got this land 4 years ago where we are working to create a little self sustainable paradise. We planted lots of trees ( both fruit and forest trees ), grow vegetables , and try to experiment with different crops that we would love to produce for ourselves - at the moment we are growing our own rice , beans, sesami , and planning to try out spelt , wine yard, chickpeas . We have 4 cats that live with us , a family of bees , and planning to get some chickens as well :). We want this land to become a place to learn and share all practices that are related to the well being of humans , of their relationships and of the environment - a place to host workshops and seminars related to regenerative agricolture, natural building, self sufficiency, systemic psychology, somatic movement, shamanism, herbal medicine , and much more . As Fukuoka said , the healing of the land and the purification of the human spirit is the same process . Our activities varies with the seasons - in March we are busy pruning the olives and making wood chips, in April we graft fruit trees and prepare the gardens for the summer planting , May we transplant our seedling, make the structures that will support climbing veggies , plant the rice and the sesami , maintain the watering system . Summer months we keep the gardens clean, harvest and water the veggies and trees, make dry fruits and jams . In autumn the harvest comes - we have a big rice harvest, and then the olive harvest starts ! We prepare the gardens beds for winter seeding the cover crops , and plant the last winter veggies . When the rains arrive we plant more trees and herbs. In winter we clean brambles and spiky bushes , collect and sort stones from around the land and build little terraces around the trees , collect woods for cooking and fire . When the sea bring us seaweeds we go to the beach and collect lots of it to make compost and to mulch gardens and paths , if shepards invite us we go and clean the stables to collect manure for the gardens , if we find branches that people throw away after pruning we collect them to make more wood chips ! We usually work in the morning and keep the afternoon free , starting earlier when the heat is strong and later when is still cold . We are still living very basic - we can host wwoofers in a bell tent , offer the use of a compost toilet - we don t have any stable building in the land yet ! We are working to build two little stone huts , and once they are done one will be for us and the other to host friends and woofers and volunteers :) We provide the groceries for breakfast and you ll have the use of an outside kitchen , and we eat a big meal all together in the afternoon ( usually in another outside kitchen, or in the yurt if the weather is not nice to eat outside )-the exact time depends again on the season and on the work we are doing ! Most of the food we eat comes from the land , both that we grow it or wild - we love collecting and using wild veggies !- We have our own olive oil, bake our own bread , and really love growing, cooking and eating healthy wholesome food ! Baba is a somatic movement teacher, grinberg method practitioner and family costellation facilitator . She s interested in all practices, tools and experiences that allow for healing, integration and coming back to wholeness . Iason is a diver , has been working as a carpenter and loves to build, weld , invent and create things in the most efficient and precise way . We both love exploring nature , foraging, hicking and swimming around the magic island ! The sea is just 5 minutes down from the land , and up from it you can take amazing hicking trails to the sources and the mountains . Plenty of rivers with waterfalls and beautiful pools to swim are around half hour walk from the land , and the village of Therma , with lots of life in the summertime and hot springs for the colder months is around 40 minutes walk. The island is a very wild and rich jewel, with lots of waters , thousands of years old giant trees, hills and forest and rocky peaks. A very magic place , that was famous in the ancient times for the Kabirian mysteries that where celebrated here and that still maintains and really unique and intense energy .
