UPDATE: for current harvest nov/dec 2024 still help needed!
I’m Alex, an olive oil producer in northern Corfu, Greece, managing a traditional olive grove and olive oil brand called Folia. My mother occasionally assists me, helping to carry on our family’s olive-growing legacy. My home is near our 500-year-old olive groves, rich in the Corfiot “Lianolia” variety, where I focus on sustainable, organic practices to produce extra virgin olive oil.
I’m currently looking for WWOOFers for the olive harvest season, which runs from late October to early December. At the moment I can host up to four people in a comfortable house. Working days are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with two breaks. We're not working when it's raining.
If you are available from now until mid december, please write a message !
As a WWOOFer here, you'll experience everything from tree care and organic farming techniques to harvesting, pressing, and tasting high-quality olive oil. You’ll learn about sustainable practices, why early harvesting matters, and how polyphenols contribute to health. An average day might include hands-on work in the olive groves, followed by pressing olives in small batches, and preparing the oil for bottling and local distribution. I look forward to sharing the craftsmanship of olive oil production with you!
WWOOFers will be accommodated in a comfortable house that sleeps up to six (with two double-bed rooms and a room with two single beds), complete with a fully equipped kitchen, big terrace and living space.
Each workday, a hearty breakfast and lunch will be provided on the farm, and Alex’s mother will prepare a home-cooked dinner. While most meals are covered, WWOOFers can bring their own food for variety if desired, and there’s a village store nearby for any additional supplies.
This setup provides a warm, community-oriented environment where WWOOFers can relax, cook together, and enjoy evenings after a fulfilling day.
When I'm not farming, I’m immersed in music, playing percussion and occasionally performing. I love sharing music and some beer with others!
