Hello, Nice to meet you! My name is Giorgos and I live in Psakoudia in the Chalkidiki area. My daughter Nicole is now almost 4 years old. I have a bio-organic shop with seasonal fruits and vegetables, olives and olive oil from our own trees, honey, wine, cheese, pasta, and lots of other delicious local organic food. I also have a permaculture garden with vegetables, olive trees, some chickens and grapes. We cultivate with natural methods. I'm looking for people who love the nature and the natural way of living, who enjoy to help me in the garden and with the growth of our production. There are lots of different plants, flowers, and trees that need watering, weeding, and some love. There is also space and time to organize your own projects, I'm always open to new ideas and input from volunteers. I can also use some extra hands in the shop: helping customers, restocking, cleaning, taking care of the plants, creative DIY projects (like painting signs), and creating a good atmosphere in general. The garden is a really good place to relax, enjoy nature, eat self-grown organic vegetables, and explore the surroundings such as wild beaches and beautiful mountains. The garden is 4km away from the shop and the city of Psakoudia, but both locations are only a 5-minute walk to the beach. I have some bikes that you can use for transportation. If you are interested in joining our family for a few weeks, send me a message and we will work something out! Accommodation: In the garden, there is a small house (still under construction) with a tent and a mattress inside. There is a basic kitchen, an outside shower, and a composting toilet. In the middle of the garden, you can make a small fire to enjoy the evenings under the stars. In the garden itself is no wifi but you can use the wifi in the shop. The lights are powered by small solar panels. There are lots of vegetables and fruits in the shop which I love to share with the volunteers. Every day you can fill your basket to prepare delicious meals. Transportation: There is a direct bus from Thessaloniki Chalkidiki bus station to Psakoudia. If you arrive from the airport you can take the bus from there to Chalkidiki bus station, it is located in the south of Thessaloniki. You can buy the tickets online or at the station itself. The bus only goes a few times a day so check the schedule online. It is about a one-hour drive and the bus stop is within walking distance to the shop. Cultural exchange: You can learn and practice with the Greek agriculture and about the Greek production of olives and grapes. You can learn about natural farming and get to know the Mediterranean diet. Psakoudia is a seaside community close to archeological sites and beautiful beaches.

I am very grateful to Giorgios for hosting me and my 3,5 year old son. We enjoyed a special week working and exploring their farm. He and his whole family were very welcoming, helpful, and tolerant. Giorgios took such care of us as if we were old friends and not newly coming short-term volunteers. We were also very lucky to meet other volunteers and to spend our time with the family of Virginia, Mathieu, Meluzine, Anais, and Augustin. Our time together was perfect. Giorgios gave us ideas on what to do in the garden, we mainly prepared new beds and planted new plants or seeds, but it was up to us to decide what to do from the variety of tasks and ideas. Thank you very much for meeting you and hosting us, I was very sad to leave!

Our time in the Greenland Garden was great! Giorgos taught us a lot about permaculture gardening. Furthermore, he is very relaxed and open-minded, we also had the opportunity to start our own projects in the garden. The working time was very flexible and we could decide a lot on our own. In total, we loved the stay in this beautiful and peaceful garden, and the contact with Giorgos and his family, and would highly recommend it to every other WWOOFer.

I spent a wonderful week in Psakoudia, Giorgios and Christina and actually many of Psakoudia's inhabitants are great hosts. I enjoyed both the work and the peace in the garden, and life in Psakoudia and the shop, and learned a lot. Thanks so much for hosting me - recommendable experience!

We had a perfect stay at Giorgios’s garden! The garden is peaceful and we learned a lot about permaculture. Giorgios and his family are the best hosts you can wish for! I really recommend this magical experience.
