My husband and I have been living in Rhodes since 2009. My husband is from here and I am French and Swiss. We have four children born from 2000 to 2008. We love our property, which is on a hill, with sea view, not far from the beach. We like animals, that is why we have dogs, cats, donkeys, two sheeps, chickens, ducks, and many butterflies and bees. We have a piece of land where we grow fruit trees and a small garden. We make our olives and olive oil, as we have about 125 olive trees. Both my husband and I have studied tourism, and we like to welcome guests and exchange in an international atmosphere. We speak both 6 languages, and we like to learn from other cultures. We live 30 minutes walking from the sea. Bicycles are available. There is also a bus stop 20 minutes walking, to Rhodes town and to Lindos.
Organic methods: We use the dung of the horse and donkeys to fertilize our trees and flowers, and some paint made with natural cooper and limestone to protect our olives trees, also a mix of sweet drinks and theramon in bottles to catch the insects that harm the olives.
Certifications: We did not register as official private business, that is why we are not certified.
Type of work: Our current project is doing essential oils with the herbs we have in our garden, making preserves with the olives, and fruits. We rebuild the chicken coop. We clean the garden and paint where it needs to be painted. We also prepare some skin creams (with our olive oil, bee wax and essential oils.), and soaps.
