We live in Preveli, Crete, Greece and we are a community of neighbors who have similar interests with all kinds of nationalities including Greece, France, Germany, Israel, Slovakia and others. We have a small poodle named Valentino. We live in a very beautiful setting by a river in a mountain region of southern Crete close to the beach. We are building a large natural garden with organic olive production in the river delta. Typical farming activities include preparing seedlings, watering, water system repairs, weeding, harvesting, pruning, composting, protection against goats, and all other related gardening activities. However, we also need all kinds of other skills that regard the surrounding infrastructure e.g. building, woodwork, electrical, landscaping, welding, and bicycle repairs. Please only apply if you have some of those technical skills also. As accommodation, we have a wwoofer cabin which includes AC, Wi-Fi, kitchen, toilet, electricity, new matrace, However, there is also an outside area under a roof that can be used for camping in the hot season, which is situated in a very nice setting close to the river and has an outside kitchen and a bed also with new mattress and a separate toilet. And in the future, I will also have a second house for the woofers. Electric bicycles are available for the woofers. We often play music together, you are welcome to join. For meals wwoofers will cook by themselves. However, joint preparation of meals and joint eating can always happen spontaneously within the community. I enjoy cooking, yoga, kitesurfing, playing music, guitar and piano, languages, gardening, bicycling, and freediving.

I stayed with Christian for three weeks during November and I had a wonderful time. The work was varied and included building bamboo fences, trimming and clearing trees and extending a wooden terrace. The cabin that I stayed in was comfortable, with electricity, WiFi and a kitchen with everything I needed. I was able to work a few hours in the morning and then have some time off in the afternoon to explore the local area. The setting is spectacular, in a valley with olive trees and a stream where you can have a paddle. There are also some beautiful hikes to be done in the local area. It is close to Preveli and Kourtaliotiko Gorge which are fantastic for some swimming. I also enjoyed walking Valentino, Christian's dog, who is very sweet.

We stayed with Christian for about a week in October. He and his dog, Valentino, live in the beautiful Preveli region, close to the famous Palm Beach and the Kourtaliotiko Gorge. The work was less focused on farming and more about setting up, repairing, and building infrastructure around the property. During our stay, we helped with projects such as building a roof, fixing fences, and trimming trees, among other tasks. Christian has a relaxed approach to work and gave us a lot of freedom to choose which projects we wanted to help with. Most days, we worked about 4h in the morning, leaving plenty of time to explore the surrounding area, which offers great hiking and some climbing opportunities. Christian was always happy to share recommendations on things to see and do nearby, and he kindly picked us up and later drove us to our next destination in Plakias. Overall, we’d recommend staying with Christian if you enjoy choosing your own projects (there are plenty!) and aren’t necessarily looking for a farming-focused experience.
