Kalimera! (Please read through it all before making contact, thank you) Since 2020 we come to our land twice a year, in Autumn and Spring, to cultivate this plot of paradise. An olive and lemon plot flanked by two fresh mountain water streams that join and flow to one of the most beautiful beaches of east Pelion. We are surrounded by wild nature, good weather above, and a bunch of tools and local materials to keep shaping a little friendly paradise to return to. *** The 2025 autumn session will start around mid septmber, keep in touch *** And so we invite friends and volunteers to join us to take care of the land that has been neglected for years. We clear the nasty berries, trim the trees, fix terraces, and do fun development that will serve us and the ones coming next session. When it gets hot and the body is warmed up properly then we have lunch and take a siesta in the hammock or walk down to the beach. This project is about doing something good for the land and those that will follow, and not less importantly it's about physical action in good company, building a good appetite and sharing a meal, getting to know each other, sharing ideas, and making new friends. We will mainly do outdoor gardening and permaculture kind of activity, building and designing with natural materials. We are not pros, we learn as we go, so if you have skills and great practical ideas, do share them with us, we also accept the city slickers and we will show you how to go at what we do already and we will learn together as we explore new aspects. You do need to have your head straight, patience, persistence, and care-full heart to not hurt yourself or others. A sample of our daily tasks: We always deal manually with the berry bush that threatens to strangle the lemon and olive trees and while at it we explore the land. This is the bread of actions here, what binds us and get us warmed up and hands on the land. so this is the team building part and its a major one because this is a jungle. The "butter" activities on the menu: Fixing terraces (the flood of summer 2023 destroyed some ), planting new trees, building a hut out of reclaimed doors and shutters (if we have the right hands for such a project) reconnecting the water system from the mountain spring (hopefully, depends on external forces), maybe makeshift a system for having hot water to the outdoor shower, plant a vegetable garden (spring session), harvest and trim the olives (Autumn session), finish design of the compost toilet...always stuff to do, depends on the skills we have between us, and what the weather dictates. We camp on the land. we have the gear (if you can bring your own even better - but do remember to bring a head torch and proper cloths-shoes). There is a small hut on the land we use for storing stuff and we usually set up a shade outside where we cook and hang out as weather is usually friendly at this time. I buy BASIC ingredients and seasonal stuff to cook meals. And we manage the cooking between us. A typical morning is porridge or yogurt muesli. Lunch or evening typical : rice+beans/lentils, pasta, salad, potatoes etc, and sometimes we light the BBQ if it suite the diet of most. I learned to put an emphasis on this as people sure have some dietary expectations - you are in a different country so please adapt and maybe its an opportunity to learn how to cook. We drink fresh mountain water, have an off-grid solar system to light us up, and charge tools and phones. We are immersed in nature, on your free time you can either chill on the hammock reading a book (we have a small collection there), play the guitar, walk down to the beach to swim or play (we have a SAP, frisbee, backgammon /chess board, etc or you can walk to the nearby village for a cold beer or sit in a cafe like a normal tourist. On days off you can go hiking, visit waterfalls, other beaches, and mountain villages, or just spend a day at the beach. If you have read all the way through here and want to contact me, please address the message to Chewbacca and I will happily answer. Omer

Thank you Omer for your kindness and generosity! I stayed in this little paradise for a week, helping with the olive harvest and with the building of a hut. The plot of land is on a steep mountain side next to the beach. So expect being outside and physically active! The work is varied, plenty and with Omer there is always room for initiative and creativity! Overall a very fulfilling and special experience!

This two weeks stay was a special experience. I was not alone hopefully: other wwoofers were there at the same time. We helped Omer to maintain his land and to try to improve certain things. The land is a strong slope and this was something very tiring... We slept in tents he provided. The water is from the river so, the shower is cold and completely outside. Omer provided also the food and we were able to cook our own meals. The food was simple: pasta, lentils, rice are the main dishes and we've got some vegetables but not a lot. For breakfast we usually had some yoghurt with oat and muesli and fruits. Food management was one of the main issue of this stay. Sometimes it happened that something was missing. The work was for most cleaning the land from brambles. Our arms got scratched but it was satisfying and we succeeded to discover new part of the land. We also pruned the olive trees and planted new vegetables. The maintenance of the camp is also time spending: empty the toilets, bring water, wash the dishes. Just after lunch we usually went to the beach just down to the land, to enjoy the clear water. To conclude this experience was a real nature experience and people must be comfortable living into nature. During this stay Omer was very busy, managing between the camp, the renovation of his village house and his own family. Sometimes he had not a lot of time to spend with us. He was kind and liked to start spicy discuss about many different matter.

omer is a really great host. He gave us the opportunity to feel at home in his dream world and showed us a lot of trust while we lived and worked there. I hope we see each other again, perhaps in the fight against the brambles, perhaps in other ways too. I wish you only the best. Greez :)
