Home organic farm with Olives, Pomegranates, vegetable garden and chickens on Kea island (Cyclades)
South Aegean
We are a small (8000 sqm) organic farm on the slopes of a hill on the Cycladic island of Kea, 4km from the port. The farm has over 60 chickens, 4 cats, and 1 lovely dog. The produce (olives, pomegranates, almonds, eggs, and vegetables) is very small and it is used for our own consumption and for the needs of the guesthouse during the summer. The whole farm is a natural one where the trees are mixed together and the chickens roam free.
On the farm, there is a guesthouse/small boutique hotel with a pool operational during the summer for paying guests. Of course, you can use the pool. That is where the accommodation for the WWOOFers will be provided during the winter, spring, and autumn in an ensuite bedroom.
During the summer accommodation is provided in a small caravan under the trees in the garden. The caravan has no electricity and the bathroom is in the main building.
We are two guys. A Greek one (who runs the guesthouse) and a New Zealander (who is a horticulturist running the farm) 50-65 years old.
The WWOOFers will participate in tree pruning (olive trees, oak trees, almond trees, and pomegranates), cutting the grass and bushes, making paths in the farm, helping in the vegetable garden, and helping on looking after the chickens and the chicken coop.
We can accommodate only 1 wwoofer at any given time and we are looking for people with prior hands-on experience in farming or gardening or animals or manual work.
An idea of the daily schedule is:
08:30-09:30 Breakfast together
10:00-17:00 Participation in the activities on the farm (including a 1-hour break for lunch)
17:00+ free time to laziness by the pool or explore the island. A spare car can be provided.
20:00-21:00 dinner together
We would like you to help us on the farm for about 30 hrs per week. We can fix together the weekly schedule and the days off to suit you.
The island is ideal for hiking on ancient paths, having a swim on pristine beaches, and exploring various archeological sites.
We enjoy reading, movies and one of us is an artist (painter).

I wish to thank Harris and Robby very much for their welcoming in Agrikea farm.
There, you will be hosted as a tourist spending the summer in a room giving you a huge view of the sea and the mountains which composed nearly all the island.
I spend 3 weeks, feeding the chickens the morning then gardening (taking out the bushes, dead plants), as the place needs to be well cuted and pruned for the high season.
Of course, some rest days occured, giving you the oppurtunity to go to the port or either to some has to be seen sites, like Karthaia.
ευχαριστώ πολύ !

Had an amazing experience at AgriKea, Haris & Robbie were excellent hosts too. The chickens were great to look after, acorn gathering was plentiful and built a useful stone path while there too.
If you can get the opportunity to help out at ArgiKea then you’ll no doubt have their wonderful dog, Yannos (a Koroneki) by your side to enrich your experience too.
Highly recommended!

Robbie and Haris are amazing WWOOFing hosts – I highly recommend having a WWOOFing experience with them!
They are very friendly and made sure I was comfortable and enjoying my stay.
They welcomed me into a very nice room, and I even had a cool car at my disposal to get around and explore the island!
The work is varied and enjoyable – from taking care of the plants and chickens to helping with some building projects.
Haris and Robbie are also really interesting people, their house is incredible, and the island is beautiful.
All in all, I had a wonderful stay at Agrikea!
Thank you, Haris and Robbie, for everything!

What an amazing place to be! I am really grateful for the wonderful three weeks I got to spend with Robbie and Haris on Kea. The two of them made me feel at home right from the beginning and took very good care. The time with them was fun and I learned a lot about gardening, working with chicken, the history of the island and of Greece itself. Since there were no more guests I could move into one of the wonderful rooms with its own bathroom and an amazing sea view! And the guesthouse and its sourroundings are simply beautiful. Top 1 wwoofing experience so far!
Thank you so much for having me!

I can definitely recommend Agrikea! Robbie and Haris are great hosts, I felt comfortable at all times and was well looked after.
As there were no more guests, I was able to move into one of the beautiful rooms with its own bathroom and great view. It was too dry to work in the garden, so I was able to help with the maintenance of the dry stone walls. Professionally I am familiar with dry stone walls, I enjoy the work and I really appreciated working with this great schist material.
I have to mention the old Jimny! Robbie and Haris were kind enough to let me use their old Suzuky, which made it easy to get to the beautiful beaches, towns and sights.
In short, I had a great time in a beautiful place with inspiring and kind people, I enjoyed my work and was mobile to explore the island. It couldn't have been better! Thanks for the good time and best regards to Agrikea

At this farm, I had my first wwoof experience, and I couldn't have had a better experience than this. I'm sorry I have been there for only 2 weeks! Haris and Robbie are fabulous people, generous, kind, and very disposable, they always made me feel at ease! We had some great conversations, they both have a good sense of humor and are very cultured and open-minded! Robbie is a wise man, I would listen to his words and teachings for hours, I helped him mostly with gardening work and with the chickens, but I also learned many new things from him! My experience was fantastic, therefore, also accompanied by their awesome dog and their cats! I also got to explore the fantastic island of Kea thanks to the car they gave me! I will remember everything forever, I hope to return to Agrikea again as a wwoofer, thank you for everything!
