1. Περιγράψτε το εγχείρημα σας, τον χώρο σας και τους κατοίκους του (συμπεριλαμβανομένων των ζώων): Είμαστε μια οικογενειακή φάρμα και μαζεύουμε μόνοι μας τις ελιές μας. Έχουμε εργαζόμενους που μας βοηθάνε, αλλά πάντα η επιπλέον βοήθεια είναι ευπρόσδεκτη. Μας αρέσει ο φυσικός τρόπος καλλιέργειας και σεβόμαστε την φύση. Μαζεύουμε το ελαιόλαδο νωρίτερα από ότι άλλοι παραγωγοί της περιοχής, διότι στοχεύουμε στο ελαιόλαδο με υψηλές φαινόλες. Στο χώρο μας μένει η οικογένεια μας (2 ενηλικες και 3 παιδάκια 5, 7 και 9 ετών) και ένας συντηρητής. Επίσης έχουμε αρκετά σκυλάκια και 2 γαϊδουράκια. 2. Απαριθμείστε σε λίστα τις δραστηριότητες, στις οποίες θα συμμετέχουν οι WWOOFers και τι θέλετε να τους διδάξετε για κάθε δραστηριότητα: Μάζεμα ελιών, που σημαίνει άπλωμα τα πανιά, συλλογή του καρπού απο τα κλαδιά με μηχανικά μέσα και με λανάρα από το δέντρο. Τσουβάλιασμα της ελιάς στο τέλος κάθε δέντρου και στο τέλος της ημέρας επίσκεψη στο ελαιότριβείο για να βγει το λάδι. Με αυτές τις δραστηριότητες σίγουρα ο woofer θα έχει μια ολοκληρωμένη εικόνα για το μάζεμα της ελιάς στην Ελλάδα. Τους καλοκαιρινους μηνες ο ελαιωνας λειτουργει σαν καμπινγκ αλλα εχουμε διαφορες δρστηριοτητες με τη φυση, οπως κηπο με βιολογικα προιοντα και εστιατοριο με ελληνικα προϊοντα. 3. Πώς μπορεί να μοιάζει η ημέρα του WWOOFer στον χώρο σας (ενδεικτικό ημερήσιο χρονοδιάγραμμα συμμετοχής σε δραστηριότητες, προσδοκίες που έχετε...); Το πρωί ξεκινάμε εργασίες στις 8.00 και τελειώνουμε συνήθως στις 16.00. Μετά είναι ώρα για ξεκούραση, φαγητό, βόλτα στο κοντινό χωριό, βόλτα με τα ποδήλατα ή τρέξιμο και μετά ύπνο. 4. Παίξτε τον ταξιδιωτικό οδηγό! Μιλήστε για τα δικά σας χόμπι (μουσική, μαγειρική, κ.λπ.) και τις διαθέσιμες δραστηριότητες γύρω σας (πεζοπορία, κολύμπι κ.λπ.): Μου αρέσει πολύ η γυμναστική, όπως το ποδήλατο στις γύρω περιοχές, η πεζοπορία, το καλό φαγητό και η μαγειρική, ο χορός και η μουσική. Προσπαθώ εδώ και πολλά χρόνια να μάθω κιθάρα, αλλά τελικά μάλλον είμαι καλύτερη στο να την ακούω.

Although I could only stay for a short while at Heliana’s I really enjoyed my stay! I was able to learn a lot and especially enjoyed milking the goats with Alberto. I hope to return for olive harvest season sometime! The location is beautiful too huge beach with backdrop of incredible mountains !

We stayed with Iliana and Dimitris for 10 days from the end of November and had a wonderful time there! They are very pleasant people, open and very warm. They run a lovely, super equipped campsite (which closed in October) and a farm with olive trees. As a team with them, four local employees and two other wwoofers, we laid out nets under the olive trees, cut trees (only Dimitris), collected the branches and pulled them through a harvesting machine, shook the olives from the trees with vibrating poles, took the olives out of the nets and separated the olives from the leaves in a vibrating device, filled the olives into boxes or bags and took them to the drop-off point, and chopped the cut branches. Working hand in hand was great fun, it was a great team! Another highlight was when we visited the olive press and were able to see the entire production process - the huge hall smelled wonderfully of olive oil. After work, we had dinner together, which Iliana always made super tasty and very varied. As well as the snack break, it was also a good opportunity to chat at a good length. As we had mixed weather during these days and it sometimes rained heavily, the olives could not be harvested on some days. We made good use of them with excursions (Monemvasia, Areopolis, Gythio) and relaxation.

We stayed about 2,5 weeks at Ilianas campsite and we couldn't have had it any better. Ilianas hospitality is unbeatable. We were so happy that she accepted us as a family with 3 little kids, fully aware that we can only provide little help. The work with the olives was fun and interesting as we could learn a lot about olives and oil production from Iliana and Dimitris. Ilianas food was delicious and the campsite and the nearby beach are beautiful places to spend the free time. We can only highly recommend this place to future wwoofers.

C’est la première fois que nous faisons un woofing et nous sommes super content de notre expérience. Nous avons été trop bien accueilli (avec notre chien) par la famille d’iliana et Dimitri. Ils ont toujours été arrangeant quand nous avions besoin de quelque chose. Nous avions accès à un petit appartement dans le camping et quand nous avions fini le travail iliana nous préparait un très bon repas. Cette endroit est très agréable, le camping est au bord de l’eau et on peut se balader le long de la plage. Nous repartons avec plein de souvenirs et des rencontres qu’on oubliera pas.
