My name is Kostas (Konstantinos), and I am a freelance Web Developer. I initially studied Physics, and I have a MSc in Nanotechnology. I work online remotely and have a love for nature. I have recently started taking care of my family property farm in Kefalonia. This is a 10000 sq.m property located in the North part of the island. The house farm contains around 25 olive trees and a small vineyard + I am now setting up a new vineyard in a field near the place. The farming process is performed for the needs of the family annual wine & olive oil, and we intend to create a small wine production in the future. The vineyard also provides a small production of Tsipouro, which is the Greek version of the Italian Grappa. There will be the possibility to blend with all processes and techniques. Organic methods: I simply collect my olive trees with hand tools and olive tree vibrators. I don't spray the trees with anything chemical. The same goes for the vineyard. Certifications: This is a family farm; there is no official organization name. Type of help needed: Reconstructing the old vineyard Taking care of the Olive trees Produce wine Produce Tsipouro Produce Olive Oil Building a new vineyard in a nearby field Internet access available Placement Description: Space 1: I will be providing a very spacious 2-room area. 1 room with 2 beds and an extra room with a desk and a sitting area. The space is suitable for a couple or 3 friends. We will be sharing the bathroom/ shower that will be located in my area of the house. For this, you will have to exit your room and do some steps and enter my house from the back door. Food 1: I will be providing the food and also cook the food. I will provide 3 meals per day: one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner or if you don’t prefer one of the 3 you let me know. The food is served in the dining area and we handle the dishwashing together. I am not providing alcohol or extra snacks. The kitchen and bathroom remain accessible all day. Help needed 1: The help needed is 5 hours/day. I might not be able to join you full-time in your WWOOfing activities. I will be there to explain everything when necessary, just might not be able to join 100%. The work is task-based, feasible related to experience with previous wwoofers. Space 2 July only I will be providing a camping site as displayed in the profile photos. The camping site is located in a remote location a bit out of the village. There is road access and then a 2 minute foot path. It is located next to my new vineyard. I will provide running water through a tank for your shower and washing needs. Toilet is provided as a camping site wild toilet. Toilet paper should be kept in garbage bags and thrown away in the local garbage bins. Food 2: I will provide cooking materials for you to cook. The succesfull Wwoofers should be equipped with their cooking utensils. I will provide water in thr form of bottled water from the super market. I will also provide a cooking device in case this is necessary. Help needed 2: The help needed is 5 hours/day. I will need help to reconstruct the specific location and also maintain the vineyard. I might not be able to join you full-time in your WWOOfing activities. I will be there to explain everything when necessary, just might not be able to join 100%. The work is task-based, feasible related to experience with previous wwoofers.

Kostas is a really positive person, and I had many interesting conversations with him. I worked on the wineyard many days, and he happily shared its knowledge. I really value that making wine for Kostas is a passion and not an excuse to drink often, he lives a peaceful life. Thanks To Chrysa and Kostas for this lovely stay in Kefalonia!

We had such a good time with Kostas! It was our first WWOOF experience but it went extremely well. Kostas is a very kind, caring, and easy going person who makes it easy to love working on the vineyard. We never felt rushed or overworked in what we were doing, everything was well explained and never stressful, and on too hot or rainy days we all cut out early! Kefalonia and the vineyard itself are extremely beautiful places with lots of nature to explore. The only thing to keep in mind is the farm is very remote. If you do not have your own transportation expect to walk a few miles to the nearest beach, although there is a restaurant and grocery store much closer. For us this was quite fun as it was an excuse to see more of the island!

We only spent a week at Kostas's. But what a week! We helped him harvest the olives before winter. We immediately felt comfortable and confident thanks to Kostas. It was a great experience, Kostas took the time to explain everything to us and answer our questions, we learned a lot. We loved spending this week with him, he is a very good cook and he always found us great beaches to visit. We also had the chance to accompany him to the olive oil factory. It was super great! 🫒 Thank you for everything Kostas, we are super happy to have met you and you will always be welcome at our place! (Gaïa already misses you!) 😉

This was our first WWOOFing experience and Kostas really went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and to say he appreciated our help. He created a positive, open environment that made it easy to volunteer for tasks on the farm and around the house. Some days were tough working, but it was definitely worth it and we would do it all over again. Outside work hours, he was very open and a lot of fun to be around.

We had the best time wwoofing with Kostas! Everyday we worked on the vineyard doing various tasks and then cooked a great lunch together. Kostas is a very considerate host who checked in with us as we were working and also took the time and energy to explain and show us every part of the growing process. We not only learned a lot about farming and life on a Greek island but had great convos on all sorts of topics. Kefalonia is beautiful! We loved exploring, swimming, and all the peaceful time spend outside reading in hammocks at Kostas's! Thank you Kostas and Chrysa! <3
