Olive grove and homestead on Thassos Island
Eastern Macedonia and Thrace
Yassou!
We are 2 friends who fell in love with Thassos.
We are located on a top of a hill, without neighbors, a few kilometers from the sea.
We started this project some years ago, it has 50 very old olive trees and a big permaculture garden with only local seeds.
Hope to see you soon to share and enjoy life.
Ps. Please share your age and provide some details about how your stay would fit into the larger journey you're on. Be aware that I spend a majority of the year alone here and most WWOFers are working 1-on-1 with me.

My stay with Stéphane was a real gift! I love the remote location, off grid on this beautiful land. I felt at home right from the start and really got immersed in the eco farm life. Each day there was something else to do ranging from planting tomato seedlings in the greenhouse to bigger plants in the field, helping with building a dry wall or getting all the cutted wood sorted. Stéphane and I worked mostly together, so he shared lots of his knowledge and insights which was very beneficial. I learnt to play Belote and we went kayaking and climbing on Thassos. The cabin in which I stayed, was cozy and eating fresh food from the garden each day made me appreciate it so much more. This place stands out and Stéphane is the heart of it!

I stayed 12 days with a friend at Stéphane’s place. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden, and he uses only traditional seeds, which we found really impressive. The room we stayed in was also very nice.
The location is quite remote, which means you’re fairly dependent on Stéphane, even if you have a car — not all cars can handle the road up to the house.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get along very well with him. While things started off okay and we appreciated that he seemed to make an effort, over time we experienced several behaviors that made us feel uncomfortable. We also found his communication often unclear and at times passive-aggressive.
We did meet some of his friends, who were really kind and welcoming, which we appreciated.
I wasn’t sure at first whether to write this review, especially since many others have left very positive feedback. But I felt a sense of responsibility to share our experience honestly.
I’m glad that others had a good time. However, I also believe that this place and dynamic may not work for everyone.

Merci encore!!

Stephane has a unique and stunning unspoilt location in the mountains. The garden is abundant with all sorts of different plants and vegetables. There was big variety of tasks and activities with no two days the same. I got the feeling of being part of a home rather than just an employee. I learnt a lot during my stay, not just from an agricultural perspective but also from a human and spiritual one.

Woofing at Stéphane's place was a really good experience! In 2 weeks i learned a lot of new things, the work was always interesting as Stephane took time to explain me many things about gardening and about the different activities we did ( baking, painting, collecting wild flowers...).Stephane is a great host, very generous and he made me feel at home since the beginning . We also went to visit many beautiful places as he knows the island very well! The place is very nice. If you like remote quiet place with sunset, birds' songs and goats as neighbors it's perfect! Thanks a lot Stephane, see you soon!
