Hello there! Let me introduce you the team. Themistocles is a professional farmer the last 15 years, a father of three children, a deputy mayor and many more! Theodoros is a new farmer that used to live in big cities before making the wisest decision in his life and move to the island. Former mechanical engineer, sailor, farmer and a big fan of olive oil! Well, that's what brought us together, in 2021 and created Bruzos, an organic , extra virgine olive oil. Other than that we also have a vegetable garden and some 1000 chickens. Depending the season the tasks include, olive tree harvesting, taking care of trees, gardening and picking up eggs! You will also get the chance to experience greek hospitality, amazing food and get to know Kefalonia in the least touristic way! Accommodation is either in a caravan in Themis place, located in Sami or in Theodoros house, located in Karavomilos. If u have any questions, let us know!

I spent two lovely weeks with Julia and Themis. This was my first WWOOF experience and I could not be more grateful that I was with them for it. I felt welcomed immediately! From going on egg runs with Themis to making pina coladas with Julia, I had a truly wonderful time. The work on the farm is rewarding, I especially liked digging up potatoes:) Plus Julia and Themis shared their fantastic Greek meals with me as well as showed me some awesome spots on the island. Thank you Julia , Themis and family! Come and visit me in Minnesota :)

Spending ten days on this beautiful island with these amazing people was not nearly enough time — I wish I could have spent another month! Julia, Themis, and their entire family have the most open hearts, and made me feel so at home. I was nervous because this was my first time traveling alone, but the second I arrived in Sami I knew this was an amazing place to be. Working on the egg farm was such a fulfilling experience, as I learned so much about the entire process of how a small farm operates — from initially collecting the eggs to going on the egg-runs around the Island with Themis, I have such a greater appreciation from where my my food comes from as I was involved in the entire process. Other miscellaneous tasks around the farm included planting vegetables, random manual labor tasks (as it was the beginning of summer preparations), and playing with the awesome farm dogs. And after every work day we had the most delicious meal at home! The egg runs was an amazing way to explore so much of the island, and Julia and Themis took me to various places as well during my off-time and I got to experience Kefalonia in such a magical way. I already miss swimming in the most blue water I have ever seen, and I could not recommend this farm enough -- I truly hope I am able to come back one day. You all have touched my hearts, thank you for everything!! Miss you all so much already <3

I had a wonderful stay with Themis and his wife Julia. They gave me a warm welcome and made me feel comfortable with staying in the caravan next to their home. The weeks in February were also busy with work, such as preparing the olive trees for the next season and working closely with Jaron made the days even more diverting. I gained many exciting insights and got to see many beautiful places on Kefalonia while delivering eggs with Themis. In the afternoons, I had time to hike in the area around Sami. All in all, I had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone again. Thank you for everything.

We loved our time with the olive harvest team on Kefalonia! We got to experience the harvest in full swing and had a lot of fun with the big team. Even with the hard physical work Themis and Theodoros made sure that everyone got enough time to relax. In the evenings after harvesting often we cleaned eggs and got to drive around the island with Themis, delivering eggs and visiting the olive oil press. We felt very much at home with Themis' family. The hospitality was outstanding and both food and accomodation was very good.

I feel so lucky that my first WWOOF experience was with Themis and Theodoros. I spent most of the summer volunteering with Themis around the chicken house, and over two months I felt like I really got to know Kefalonia. There were many local activities during the summer, and I’m grateful to the hosts for including me whenever they could. I hope to come back for the olive harvest one day!

Mahalo nui loa to Themis, his family, and Theodoros for hosting me this September! I had such an amazing experience and am so grateful to have been welcomed into this family and farm. I spent two weeks working with the chickens, collecting and packing eggs, enjoying lunches with the family, and riding around the island for egg deliveries. The island is so beautiful, and I couldn't have asked for a better host. I wish I could have stayed longer, and already want to go back!
