Our farm is at 1100m. on the mountain of Kissavos, the most beautiful place in Greece! We have gardens and animals and bees. We make cheese and many other products from the nature around us. We are about 24 nuns from 14 countries, living community life, praying and working together, sharing both the good and the bad, looking for God, and becoming better, joyful, and peaceful. We are Orthodox Christians. You can experience more about us with us! We prefer to host volunteers for 3 weeks more or less, negotiable Specific working and/or living rules: Behavior suitable for a monastery … Months mostly needed: May-October Further information: It will be an experience that you will not easily forget. It can be great fun. It can help people who are looking for God in their lives –spiritual life, a life full of meaning. The multicultural environment of our community means that we are open to all cultures. We can share our 30 years of organic farming, and our love and care for our animals, respecting all of God’s creation. Opportunity to work and talk to the nuns. Certifications: We know that people can pay for certification without being really organic. We know we are really organic and do not need any paper to say we are. If people do not believe us, they need not buy from us. But all our customers know from the taste of our food. Type of work: To make our land more beautiful and to have healthy products. Next village in 4km, forest, beautiful, quiet and green …! Wonderful walks – even to the summit of the mountain at almost 2000m.

I cannot be more thankful for the experience I got to live in this monastery... As a wwoofer who was not raised in this religion, it was truly enlightening to see so many sisters who truly love everyone and each other. It is amazing to witness how healthy and wonderful this community is. You get to hear and see them pray if you want to, to talk to them about their beliefs and worries you can have, but also and most importantly to work ! The latter was in fact so rewarding and fun!! Wether it was working in the garden, helping sometimes in the kitchen or working in the farm if they needed help. So many memories made :)) It was the best woofing I've done so far, thankful for meeting so many great wwoofers while eating such tasty and healthy meals ! Thank you so much to all of you for your patience, endless kindness and warm hearts. So excited to see you again !!

This monastery is a truly special place! Our time there was insightful and touching and very different from other Wwoofing experiences we had! We were welcomed with so much care and compassion. Αrriving felt as if we were already part of the family! The sisters are very attentive and are open to letting you peak into their worldview, wisdom, faith and daily lifes. Basic conversations about work often lead to conversations that were very meaningful for me. The sisters often brought us books about topics we were interested in and provided us with guidance on our ways. We worked a lot with wood in the 3 weeks we spent in the monastery! The tasks are generally diverse, from gardening to flower picking, maintenance etc. The sisters are very appreciative and grateful for the tasks the volunteers did! It felt joyful to work in such an environment, also on long days! You will eat delicious products from the farm, a looot of cheese, yoghurt, kefir, homemade jams, pickles, chutneys, ….. I hope you will get to taste the strawberries! We had the luck to live together with great volunteers, to go on hikes on Sundays, to have long conversations and a lot of laughter together. Thank you so so much for your generosity and all the inspiration we received from your way of being!

It was a wonderful experience being here as part of a unique monastic community of nuns. The tasks were varied and interesting and there was so much to learn too, from the gardens to the kitchen, dairy and the history of the place itself. There were books to read in English, German and Greek about Orthodox Christianity, if you were interested and it was worth attending the services to hear the traditional Byzantine chanting, The nuns became friends over the month I was there, as did fellow WWOOFERS and the occassional guest visitor. There was always the sense we were all cared for. The self sufficient lifestyle was truly inspirational and it was a priviledge to be part of this.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience at this monastery and the wonderful people I met there. It was far better than I could have imagined and the pictures do no do the beauty of the place justice. I came with the intention to learn about farming and gardening so that I could implement what I learned on my own property. The sisters were generous in sharing their knowledge and experience with so much joy and love. The sisters know how to work hard and eat well.....we worked long day and ate the most amazing food. I hope to make it back here in the future and would highly recommend this to anyone considering a visit.

This was my first WWOOF experience and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Here at the monastery there was beautiful scenery, delicious and fresh food, and a really strong sense of community! The other volunteers during my time were incredible too which have resulted in long-term friendships. The sisters are super kind and compassionate, I wish them all the best and I hope to return soon. Highly recommend!

My three weeks at the Monastery were nothing short of transformative. Immersed in nature's embrace, with the freshest of food and the purest of air, I found a sense of peace I hadn't known before. The sisters are truly remarkable individuals, their kindness and care helped to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I was fortunate to meet a wonderful group of WWOOFers and forge lasting friendships. It was a privilege to contribute to the monastery's daily life while experiencing the beauty of Greek countryside. If you're seeking a truly unforgettable experience, I wholeheartedly recommend a stay at this Monastery.
